About the Artist
I am an artist with a passion for historical subjects. Art frees us from our present surroundings, and can transport us to another place and another time. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, I developed my skill in painting from an early age. I received instruction at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, as well as at Tufts University. I am an active member of the Needham Art Association. I currently work exclusively in oils and live in Massachusetts.
My work includes landscapes, portraiture, and illustration.
My influences are many, but I’m currently most inspired by the works of John William Waterhouse, Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Édouard Detaille, and Jean-Léon Jérôme. Each of these painters pursued an artistic vision that combined attention to detail with a painterly approach to creating an evocative image.
